Liverpool ‘in talks’ to sign back skilled EFL center

Liverpool are in talks to sign Preston midfielder Ben Davies in a deal price round £ 2m, in accordance with stories.

However Daily Mail correspondent Dominic King have revealed that the Premier League champions are in deep discussions with Preston about signing Davies.

The report provides that the “deal is trying more and more anticipated” with Davies becoming a member of Liverpool for round £ 2m. It is usually reported that Sepp van der Berg will join Preston on loan as a part of the deal.

Davies made his first look for Preston when he was just 17. He has made over 130 appearances for them since his 2013 outing.

The 25-year-old player has had loan spells with Newport County and Fleetwood City in latest years. He has made 30-plus Championship appearances for Preston in three consecutive seasons. Davies has already played 18 instances this season.

Klopp admitted after Sunday’s 3-1 win at West Ham it “makes sense” for Liverpool to sign a center-back however he was tight-lipped on any specifics.

He said: “In passing issues, we do not say something till one thing is finished. I’ve said it all of the time: in our scenario, it makes sense [to sign a centre-half]. Our eyes are all the time open and we try to fix our scenario if we will. If not, we’re enjoying like we did tonight. ”
