New England Revolution sign Jon Bell, Maciel from Revolution II

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signings

The New England Revolution have signed defender Jon Bell and midfielder Maciel from their USL League One affiliate Revolution II, the membership introduced Monday.

Each players featured extensively in USL League One motion and change into the second and third players to sign for the primary team from Revs II, following defender Collin Verfurth.

“Jon and Maciel confirmed great potential last season with Revolution II and have carried out well over the last a number of weeks in preseason coaching with our first team,” sporting director and head coach Bruce Enviornment said in a membership assertion. “They’ve each earned this chance to join our MLS roster and we glance forward to seeing them continue their growth right here in New England.”

Bell, a 23-year-old center back, began 15 for Revs II last year. He played collegiately on the College of Maryland Baltimore County, making 56 appearances over 4 years. He figures so as to add depth in central defense with the likes of Andrew Farrell, Henry Kessler and Verfurth.

Maciel, 21, played in all 16 video games for Revs II. He joined the membership after growing within the academy of Brazilian membership Botafogo. The central midfielder is a local of Rio de Janeiro.

New England open the 2021 season on April 17, against Chicago Fireplace FC.
