When Ben Gibson left the claret and blue of Burnley to join the Canaries this summer season, he knew he was becoming a member of a membership on the up.
It has been a tricky few years for the former England Youth international, who was referred to as up in to the England senior squad back in 2017.
A club-record move from home-town team Middlesbrough to Sean Dyche’s side in 2018 did not work-out well for the centre-back. In-fact Gibson made just one look in the course of the 2019–20 season, beginning in a 3–1 loss to Sunderland in Round Three of the Carabao Cup.
Last February, he was even permitted by the membership to coach with former membership Middlesbrough, after informing the membership his want to leave in January.
A move back to the Sky Bet Championship adopted, as Daniel Farke snapped up his signature in the summertime.
“My time at Burnley definitely did not break me,” said Gibson, who was a particular visitor with Mark Clemmitt on the Official EFL Podcast.
“It made me as hungry as I ever have been – if no more to try and prove individuals wrong to attain success once more on a person and team level.
“This chance at Norwich offered itself and it is one which I am really having fun with.”
You may see why there aren’t any regrets for Gisbon. The Canaries have been the stand-out teams of the season to this point and sit six points clear on the top of the table.
“To attain what we now have on this first half of the season is really particular.
“There’s a number of issues it’s a must to deal with if you get relegated out of the Premier League.
You face a relegation hangover, players’ futures are unsure and I believe what the manager’s executed and what Stuart Webber have executed right here is, they’ve wished to squash all that and strip it proper back to what they know they’ve. They know they’ve a fantastic set-up right here.”
